Ground In to Rise up

Things are constantly competing for space in our brains. From media, to news, to music, to the ADs constant ads trying to tell us we are not enough just as we are.

Our focus is demanded at every corner, brain hacked to join the matrix at every step every eye movement, every look or reaction is another piece of data.

What are you doing to stay grounded in your own truth? What boundaries do you set so that you create your own reality? How do you block out the world to truly center, and be who you are?

Becoming a witness to screen time, how often you pick up your device, and how often you are surged with emotion to continue on the cycle of checking, seeing if you have that notification, seeing if someone anyone is wanting to connect.

Our world is so strange. Never have we ever been so “connected” but disconnected.

We are unfortunately still in a epidemic of loneliness. A vast majority, actually 71% to be exact, of millennials feel alone. Even though anyone you ask will say they are “so busy”, that busy feeling still does not fill the void of our innate human desire to belong and be a part of something greater than ourself.

What are you doing to create community? How do you engage in community? If you have limited answers to these questions - I encourage you to find something fun in your area. It could be a yoga class, a free event at the library, a fun trivia night at a brewery. What ever it is, just go. Enjoy your self. Put your phone down and say hello to a stranger.

It is so hard to do things alone, but I promise, no one is thinking about you as much as you are thinking about you. Step outside of yourself and strike up a conversation. What is the worst that could happen?
